Self-Made Businesses Thriving During Pandemic

SAN DIEGO, CA - Self-made business owners are doing good during the coronavirus pandemic.


Self made business owner Aaliyah Brown is owner of an Ice cream business called Irie and Cream. She creates Ice cream from scratch using a private method. She also infuses her ice cream with THC. Most of Browns clientele comes from marijuana users. Her ice cream is said to taste so delicious that people can't taste the marijuana. She believes that it is important to have a self-made business to create extra income.




"A lot of people have lost their jobs do to covid and the pandemic, so having that extra income and source of revenue is very important. During the pandemic, if you have the means necessary and your not completely physically or mentally ill cause of the pandemic, I think starting a small business is actually very important"

Aaliyah has sold her ice cream to many people including famous rapper Wiz Khalifa and his group called Taylor Gang.

Another Business Owner Is dance instructor Courtney Robinson. She is owner of The Ladies Room Las Vegas and has open classes every week. She started her business two years ago in 2018 and has been doing great ever since. Since the pandemic happened in march, she has found different ways to maintain her business.


"My business is thriving through the pandemic [...] through me just finding different and creative ways to keep my business running [...] we did Instagram live classes, we did zoom classes."

The Ladies Room Team has performed at many events including a music video of famous rapper Dizzy Wright's new song called Keep Up.

A San Diego local photographer started his photographing business in 2019 and believes that it has been good to him to take pictures during this difficult time.


"Its a thing for personal growth so I do believe that it is always a good trait or good practice during a time like this. without a doubt during this time has been beneficial to me."
