SAN DIEGO, CA - Since the coronavirus pandemic - a stay at home order has been issued, causing trouble in relationships. Due to the order, couples are spending more time together, causing arguments and underlined issues to surface. For some couples, they will be forced to have a long distant relationship due to their partners being isolated with their families.
The DailyMail says, “divorce rates spike across China after ‘couples spend too much time together during coronavirus home quarantine.’”
Challenges are likely to arise in relationships due to the isolation and distance. Couples are having to test their communication skills to keep their partner interested.
“Investing in a relationship is a scary thing. People rightfully want some assurance, or insurance, that things might be okay. The virus has taken that away for a lot of folks just starting something. So I’m guessing I am not the only one.”
As we’re all being told to practice social distancing, and even in some cases, being told not to leave the house at all unless for essential purposes, couples are being quarantined together for an indefinite amount of time. If you’re feeling stressed out about the impact of coronavirus on your relationship, know that you’re not alone, and your nervous reaction to being quarantined with your partner is normal.
